These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of AEON (Animal Empathy Online Network) and its website, community platform, messaging tools, groups, forums, events, and related features (“Services”). By creating an account or accessing AEON, you agree to these Terms.
1. Your Account
You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all actions taken under your account.
We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms or our community guidelines.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, or harm others
- Post violent, abusive, hateful, or discriminatory content
- Share illegal, harmful, or misleading information
- Upload malware or attempt to disrupt platform operations

AEON exists to promote empathy, education, and compassionate action for animals and the environment. All participation must align with these values.
3. Community Conduct
AEON allows users to participate in:
- Groups and interest communities
- Forums and discussions
- Direct messaging
- Activity feeds and posts
- Event-based interactions
Content you post may be visible to others depending on your settings. You are responsible for what you share.
We may moderate, remove, or restrict content that violates our guidelines or disrupts the community.
4. User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of content you create.
By posting on AEON, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and promote your content within the platform and in connection with AEON’s mission.
We may remove content at our discretion if it violates these Terms or community standards.
5. Private Messaging
AEON provides tools for private messaging between members.
We do not monitor message content unless required by law or necessary to address security or safety concerns.
6. Intellectual Property
All AEON logos, branding, text, graphics, and software are the property of the Foundation for Animal Empathy unless otherwise noted.
You may not copy, distribute, modify, or exploit any part of AEON without written permission.
7. Prohibited Uses
You may not use AEON to:
- Conduct illegal activity
- Spread misinformation or harmful content
- Exploit animals or promote actions contrary to animal welfare
- Sell or promote products that violate environmental or ethical principles
- Circumvent platform security
- Create automated accounts or bots without permission
8. Third-Party Services
AEON may use third-party tools for hosting, analytics, email delivery, payment processing, or integrations. Your use of these features may be subject to their separate policies.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to any user who:
- Violates these Terms
- Threatens the safety or well-being of users or animals
- Misuses the platform
- Creates repeated community disruptions
You may delete your account at any time.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
AEON is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
We make no guarantee of continuous uptime, error-free functionality, or that community interactions will always be safe or appropriate.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AEON and the Foundation for Animal Empathy are not liable for:
- User-generated content
- Actions of other community members
- Loss of data, interruptions, or damages resulting from platform use
Use AEON at your own risk.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon unless otherwise required by local regulations.
13. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms. Your continued use of AEON after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
