As we close out 2025 — and wrap up our Vegan Is Music, Music Is Fashion series — there was only one way to finish: with Billie Eilish.
Few artists of her generation have used their influence so consistently and so boldly for animals. Vegan since her early teens, Billie has made animal welfare, environmental responsibility, and cruelty-free fashion part of her public identity — and she never shies away from speaking out.

This week, we kicked off the holidays with residents in Altadena!
The long-term impacts of the wildfires on our communities are real. In fact, latimes just reported that emergency room visits for heart attacks jumped dramatically after the Eaton Fire, respiratory illness increased, and concerning blood markers more than doubled.
That’s why I’m so proud to work with supportandfeed to bring healthy, plant-based, and meaningful options to those most impacted. I`ve seen firsthand how healing food can be and I believe that our communities deserve this level of care, nourishment, and dignity not just in moments of crisis, but always.

The 2nd Annual GUC Toy Giveaway was more than an event it was a living, breathing example of what’s possible when a community is centered, valued, and poured into with intention.
This was the first toy giveaway in Compton to offer all of this completely free in one space.
We fed 450 people at no cost
🌯 200 burritos
🥪 250 boxed lunches
There were over 600 toys while families received free haircuts and braiding, enjoyed horse & pony rides, raisingcanes lemonade, competed in an Esports tournament with cash prizes, and connected with 30+ resource vendors offering real tools and support.
We raffled off 2 PS5s, Clippers tickets, bikes, and electric scooters and the energy, joy, and gratitude filled the airport.
This wasn’t your average toy giveaway. It was intentional. It was dignified. Families were incentivized for each child to receive a toy, every family visited every resource vendor. Access met opportunity, and joy met purpose.
Since 2021, GUC has been consistently pouring into Compton through free monthly wellness workshops at the Compton Airport, Willson Park, and Alma Backyard Farms, art and writing contests, and an afterschool wellness program serving all 21 K–8 Compton Unified schools. This toy giveaway is the natural extension of that work created organically, built with trust, and rooted in love for the people.
